GUWAHATI

A British travel vlogger said she and her friend were groped at the concert of American singer-rapper Post Malone in Guwahati on December 8.

Taking to social media, she alleged that the two of them were “touched without consent” soon after they entered the concert venue at the Veterinary College ground situated a few metres from the Administrative Staff College.

An Assam police officer said that attempts were made to contact the two foreign nationals, although no complaint had been lodged.

“The British citizen complained about harassment at the Post Malone concert. We had an adequate number of officers and staff at the venue. During the investigation, we learnt that no complaint was lodged with the police,” Guwahati’s Joint Commissioner of Police, Ankur Jain, told journalists on Wednesday (December 10, 2025).

He also said text messages were sent to two women on their X handles. “I told them that if they had any issues, they could inform me. I am awaiting their reply,” he said, insisting that action would be taken if any complaint was received.

Sivasagar MLA Akhil Gogoi demanded the arrest of those who were involved in the incident. “Such an unfortunate incident will tarnish the image of Assam. It must be probed and the culprits arrested and punished,” he said.
