As the SSLC annual examinations are fast approaching, the district administration, the Zilla Panchayat and the Education Department in Yadgir are constantly making hectic efforts and taking reformative steps to ensure good results.
The Education Department has already conducted special classes, overnight classes, group discussions, preliminary tests and taken other necessary initiatives to encourage students to write the exams comfortably and get good scores.
In addition to that, the Zilla Panchayat has now moved forward with another reformative step, asking gram Panchayats across the district to make all arrangements to enable students study at Arivu Kendras round the clock.
“A circular has been issued to all taluk panchayats, the Deputy Director of Public Instructions and all Block Education Officers asking them to provide drinking water, seating, evening snacks and other basic needs to SSLC students for exam preparation round the clock,” Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Lavish Ordia has said.
A total of 124 Arivu Kendras have been set up in 122 gram panchayats across the district.
Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Priyank Kharge earlier directed officials to set up Arivu Kendras in all gram panchayats with all necessary books not only for common readers but also for students and candidates who want to prepare for competitive examinations.
Since then, the Zilla Panchayat has set up Arivu Kendras for the purposes of the public and students. He said that Arivu Kendras are now becoming more useful for SSLC students under crucial circumstances.
The district secured the 33rd place among other districts in the State list in 2025. And, it was in the 35th place in 2024.
“We deputed guest teachers and adopted average students to put more focus on them to develop their educational growth and improve grasping capacity. And, apart from that, overnight classes have been organised with the collaboration of donors who promised to serve students food at night,“ DDPI Channabasappa Mudhol told The Hindu.
Deputy Commissioner Harshal Bhoyar has already conducted meetings with the Education Department officers and directed them to take all available initiatives to improve results.
Meanwhile, district in-charge and Small Industries Minister Sharanabasappa Darshanapur has appealed to parents of students to extend coordination with the department in efforts to implement initiatives for the purpose of bringing improvement in results.
In his letter, Mr. Darshanapur has requested parents to encourage students to appear for examinations with great confidence.
He further asked them, especially farmers, not to engage students in agricultural activities and fieldwork until the exams are over and to make students work hard and get good results.
Despite teacher shortage in government-run schools, the district administration, the Zilla Panchayat, the Education Department and also the district in-charge Minister have joined hands together and implemented reformative initiatives, taking the district’s poor performances in the SSLC results seriously.
