Government has taken serious note of a ‘protocol violation’ by Rajanna-Sircilla District Collector Sandeep Kumar Jha during the official Praja Palana Day celebrations on September 17, and issued a notice to him.

The government expressed its displeasure over the manner in which the Collector reportedly failed to adhere to official norms during the event attended by Government Whip Adi Srinivas.

Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao issued a formal notice to the Collector on Thursday, and directed him to submit his explanation by 3 p.m. on Monday. Sources said that the government would examine the Collector’s response carefully before deciding on further action.

The notice is related to the controversy during the Praja Palana Day celebrations in Rajanna Sircilla, where he arrived late, much after the Chief Guest, Mr. Adi Srinivas. The Collector allegedly failed to adhere to official procedures. He was supposed to arrive early and receive Mr. Adi Srinivas, who felt it was not only violation of protocol but also insult to the event where the national flag was hoisted.

Sources said that Mr. Adi Srinivas lodged a formal complaint with the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) and the Chief Secretary, demanding immediate action against the Collector for his disrespect.
