A delegation from Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City), along with officials of the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA), will participate in the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland, from January 19 to 23.

The visit comes as GIFT City reports activity across international banking, fund management, fintech, asset leasing, Global Capability Centres (GCCs), and international education.

During the meeting, the delegation will hold interactions with business leaders, investors and policymakers. The discussions will cover financial services, banking, technology, fintech, institutional investment and multinational corporations, a press release said.

The focus will be on collaboration, capital flows and the role of GIFT City for firms seeking to operate in and through India, it further said.

“The discussions are expected to include international banking, fund management, aircraft and ship leasing, fintech, GCCs, sustainable finance and emerging technologies. The delegation will present information on GIFT City’s infrastructure, regulatory framework and talent base,” the release read.

Sanjay Kaul, Managing Director and Group CEO of GIFT City, said India is at a stage of its economic journey marked by interest in its financial markets and growth.

“Our engagement in Davos allows us to engage with decision-makers and explain how GIFT City can function as a gateway for capital and capabilities into India,” he said.
