Four women killed in lightning strike in Cuddalore district

Four women were killed and another sustained injury in a lightning strike at Kaludur near Veppur in Cuddalore district on Thursday evening.

The deceased were identified as S. Rajeshwari, 48, V. Kanitha, 38, R. Parijatham, 45 and A. Chinnaponnu, 40, all hailing from Kaludur village.

All of them were working in an agricultural field when lightning struck killing all the four women on the spot. K. Davamani sustained injuries and was admitted to the Veppur Government Hospital. A case has been registered.
