Telangana Districts’ Cricket Association (TDCA) led by former chairman of the Sports Authority of Telangana (SATS), Alipuram Venkateshwar Reddy, protested at the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) office for picking up a Pakistani player in the Sunrisers Leeds team in The Hundred, a UK based league, and also over non inclusion of Telangana players in the SRH team. Student Unions also joined the dharna and they later submitted a memorandum to Nagesh, a representative of the Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise. Mr. Reddy confronted the management, demanding to know why the SRH did not buy Telangana players in the auction.
