The first English medium playschool opened at a small village, Lambi-Sahad, in Rajasthan’s Jhunjhunu district is set to benefit children from the rural communities by giving them exposure with a strong academic foundation. Education Minister Madan Dilawar inaugurated the playschool earlier this week.

The playschool has been opened at Shaheed Suresh Singh Government Senior Secondary School in Lambi-Sahad, under Lambi-Ahir village panchayat, with transportation facility and inclusive access. Jhunjhunu-based Aditri Foundation has established the facility with the pledge to strengthen early childhood education in rural areas.

Lambi-Ahir Sarpanch Neeru Yadav, who is also co-founder of Aditri Foundation, said the playschool would impart inclusive and globally aligned education to the rural children. The foundation has also provided a van, as an “education shuttle”, offering safe and reliable transportation for children from nearby villages and surrounding areas.

While the transport facility is expected to ensure high enrolment among the rural families, Ms. Yadav said the playschool would empower the village children with confidence, modern learning exposure, and global opportunities from an early age.

“The initiative aims at bridging the educational gap between rural and urban learners by providing modern learning methodologies and a strong academic foundation at an early age,” Ms. Yadav said. The young Sarpanch is known in Rajasthan’s Shekhawati region for her initiatives in the domains of farming, agricultural marketing, skills development, health and nutrition and women’s sports.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Mr. Dilawar said the initiative reflected the spirit of providing education “from a village to the world” and it would inspire more families in rural communities to give priority to education for their children. Former Jhunjhunu MP Santosh Ahlawat and former Surajgarh MLA Subhash Poonia were among those present.

Other speakers praised the Aditri Foundation’s efforts to bring global education standards closer to village communities. The foundation has taken up several works in the fields of environment, education and women’s empowerment in Jhunjhunu district in the past.
