Tension prevailed in the Nampally Railway Station area after a fire broke out in a furniture store on Saturday, January 24, 2026. No casualties or injuries were reported as of 3.30 p.m. .
According to fire department officials, at least 10 fire tenders were rushed to the spot following a distress call at 1:42 p.m. Firefighters worked to bring the blaze under control as thick smoke engulfed the surrounding area.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the fire originated on the ground floor of a G+3 building housing the furniture store. Owing to the intensity of the blaze, flames quickly spread to the upper floors, with dense plumes of smoke seen billowing from the building, causing panic among commuters and local residents. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, and further investigations are under way.
