The award-winning film, September-10, produced by Group Captain G. J. Rao, a Kargil War veteran and founder of the G Jindagi Foundation, received high praise from the mental health community during a special screening at the Institute of Mental Health, Erragadda, on Thursday. The event was hosted as part of World Mental Health Awareness Week, observed from October 4 to 10.

Centred on the theme of suicide prevention, the film was lauded for its sensitive and realistic depiction of the struggles surrounding mental health. Dr Anitha Rayirala, Professor of Psychiatry, Superintendent of the Institute, and CEO of the State Mental Health Authority, commended Mr Rao’s efforts, saying that mental health must be given the highest priority in today’s fast-paced and demanding world.
