The BJP, Congress and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Monday (May 4, 2026) retained their seven sitting seats in five States where Assembly bypolls were held on April 9 and 23.

While the BJP won four seats in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Tripura and Nagaland, the Congress won two in Karnataka and the NCP emerged victorious in Maharashtra.

Voting took place for the byelections in Nagaland, Karnataka and Tripura on April 9 and in Gujarat and Maharashtra on April 23.
