Engineering students should strive to improve technical skills and do relevant certificate courses which would ensure campus placements, Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge and Technologies-Etcherla campus Director KVGD Balaji said.

He was the chief guest for the ‘Freshers Day’ celebrations held on Monday in Avanthi Institute of Engineering and Technology at Cherukupalli in the district. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the students should strive hard to understand quick changes in the technology so that they would be able to meet expectations of the software and other companies.

Chairman of Avanthi Group of Colleges and former minister Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao said that the engineering students would continue to have more opportunities in Andhra Pradesh itself with State government taking several initiatives to make Visakhapatnam as the major IT hub. Infosys group manager Konchada Kishore explained latest changes taking place in the IT sector while explaining the job opportunities for freshers and experienced persons. Avanthi Group general secretary M. Priyanka explained the management’s initiative in creating the infrastructure in all colleges to make students to have first hand information and practical experience with regard to changes in the IT and other sectors.
