Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, along with Union Coal Minister G. Kishan Reddy, unveiled the official logo of the Sammakka Saralamma Central Tribal University, Mulugu, in the presence of Vice-Chancellor Y.L. Srinivas in New Delhi on Tuesday.

The newly unveiled logo reflects the creative spirit of the university, incorporating words from various tribal languages, a symbolic gesture celebrating diversity and inclusion. “It is a matter of joy that the university has been named after Sammakka and Saralamma, in honour of the faith of millions of devotees and the cultural heritage of Telangana,” said Mr. Kishan Reddy.

Acknowledging that the State government has allocated land for the university, he urged Mr.Pradhan to expedite the construction of its buildings.

Mr.Pradhan highlighted the Centre’s commitment to tribal education, stating that over ₹800 crore has already been allocated for the university. “This institution will not only serve Telangana but also benefit tribal communities in neighbouring states such as Maharashtra, Odisha and Chhattisgarh,” he said.

He emphasised the need for culturally relevant courses, including those focused on tribal food traditions, Ayurveda and instruction in tribal languages, said a press release.
