Officials of the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) have launched searches at the residence of former Municipal Administration Minister and DMK principal secretary K. N. Nehru in Tiruchi on Saturday (September 5, 2026).

The DVAC team, led by a Deputy Superintendent of Police, launched the operation around 6.30 a.m. at the former Minister’s residence at Thillai Nagar.

Searches are underway at multiple locations linked to the former Minister, sources said. However, the specifics of the case being investigated in the search are not yet clear.

DMK cadre and office bearers, including former Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, assembled in front of Mr. Nehru’s house.
