Twenty one women completed a 35-day block-printing course conducted by Divi’s Laboratories Limited at the Divis Skill Training Centre, Chippada. They received their certificates at a programme held at the centre on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, Neelima Divi, Director said that skills training could help women become self-reliant and contribute to their families’ economic well-being.

Ms. Divi urged women to make full use of their capabilities and participate in the country’s development. She said that the organisation would continue to support women in villages surrounding the Divi’s facility by providing training to improve their economic development.

General manager Y.S. Koteswara Rao said the course would benefit women interested in fabric designing, tailoring and crafts.

DGM Jagadish said the trainees learnt fabric preparation, use of wooden blocks, colour mixing, single and double-colour printing and brick-pattern designs.

Trainers Kaneez Fatima and Syed Naseema said they were ready to provide suitable employment opportunities to the trainees.
