A day after recording heavy to very heavy rainfall under the influence of cyclonic storm, Ditwah, SPSR Nellore district continued to receive light rain on Monday (December 1, 2025).

Much of the rainfall activity caused by the cyclone in Andhra Pradesh is confined to Nellore district. According to A.P. State Development Planning Society, Kodavalur recorded 22.5 mm rainfall, Nellore Rural 20.5 mm, Nellore city 11.25 mm between 8.30 a.m. and 12 p.m. A few stations in Tiruapti also received light rainfall below 15 mm during the period on Monday (December 1, 2025).

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Tirupati and SPSR Nellore districts and a yellow alert for Prakasam, Bapatla, West Godavari and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema on Monday (December 1, 2025) as heavy to very heavy rain is likely in these places.

On Sunday (November 30, 2025), when the IMD had issued a red alert for SPSR Nellore, Tirupati and Chittoor districts, only Nellore received very heavy rainfall. According to data collected by A.P. State Disaster Management Authority, Kavali mandal recorded 123. 2 mm followed by Jaladanki mandal at 92.8 mm and Bogole 74.8 mm.

On December 2, Tuesday, heavy rain, accompanied with squally winds with speed reaching 40- 50 kmph, and gusting up to 60 kmph, is likely at isolated places across the State. Thereafter, up to December 5, light rain may continue in the State.

The deep depression, remnant of Ditwah, was positioned over the southwest Bay of Benagal at about 50 km east-southeast of Chennai and 200 km south-southeast of Nellore as of 8.30 a.m. on Monday (December 1, 2025). The minimum distance of the centre of the deep depression from north Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coasts is about 40 km. It is very likely to move slowly northwards parallel to North Tamil Nadu-Puducherry and south Andhra Pradesh coasts and weaken into a depression before Tuesday morning (December 2, 2025), according to the IMD.
