The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) has approved plans for the development of a 45-metre-wide road from Ameenpur Kaman to Gandhi Statue via Bandam Kommu Lake and a 30-metre-wide road connecting JJ Nagar and Kompally via Growmore Food Nursery near Fox Sagar Lake, with both projects set to involve acquisition of affected properties based on feasibility assessments.

The proposals were among a series of infrastructure, administrative and civic development initiatives cleared at the 4th Ordinary Meeting of the Standing Committee chaired by Special Chief Secretary, Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD), Jayesh Ranjan on Saturday.

A total of 11 agenda items were placed before the Standing Committee. Among the major decisions was the approval for construction of a permanent office building for the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation near Mudi Kunta lake in Khanamet village of Serilingampally mandal at an estimated cost of ₹161 crore.

The proposed headquarters will consist of a ground-plus-eight-floor structure with provision for future expansion up to ground-plus-twelve floors. The facility would serve as a centralised administrative centre aimed at improving governance and public service delivery.

The Committee also approved engagement of supporting personnel for Town Planning activities, subject to rationalisation of manpower requirements. Similarly, engagement of technical and supporting personnel for Engineering activities was approved, subject to rationalisation of manpower requirements, to strengthen project monitoring, field supervision, quality control and execution of civic infrastructure works.

In the public health sector, the committee approved implementation of an entomology pilot project covering newly added urban local body circles. The initiative includes deployment of manpower, fogging operations, procurement of equipment and mosquito-control measures aimed at strengthening vector-control efforts.

The committee also approved engagement of 14 vehicle-mounted bucket ladders for branch pruning and tree maintenance activities across all zones. The project, estimated to cost approximately ₹5.7 crore, is expected to facilitate scientific tree maintenance and improve management of urban greenery.
