The Communist Party of India (CPI) has asked the Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to take immediate steps to reconstruct the Peddavagu project, which has remained defunct since the 2024 floods.

CPI State secretary G. Eswaraiah wrote to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and his Telangana counterpart A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday (April 22, 2026), saying the irrigation structure, located near Gummadavalli in Aswaraopeta mandal of Bhadradri Kothagudem district, needed urgent rebuilding.
