The Fort Kochi police rescued an unidentified migrant worker who reportedly fell into Thuruthy canal on Sunday (December 28). The person, suspected to be suffering from mental health issues, was found immersed up to his neck in contaminated water and shivering by a police team that reached there following an alert around 8.30 a.m.
The man was rushed to the nearby taluk hospital and from there he was shifted to the Ernakulam General Hospital. The identity of the person has not yet been ascertained, said Inspector M.S. Faisal.
