Minister for Roads, Buildings and Infrastructure Development B.C. Janardhan Reddy on Sunday called for unity among all communities across Andhra Pradesh, irrespective of their regional affiliations. 

Accompanied by Achanta MLA Pithani Satyanarayana, Mr. Janardhan Reddy on Sunday unveiled a bronze statue of Rayalaseema freedom fighter, Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, at Marteru village in Achanta assembly constituency in West Godavari district.

Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy was a local chieftain of Kurnool district who took on the British forces in the 1840s. He was publicaly hanged in 1847 at Koilkuntla for his defiance. 

Addressing the Reddy community gathering, Mr. Janardhan Reddy thanked Mr. Pithani Satyanarayana for allowing to erect Mr. Narasimha Reddy’s statue in the Godavari region.
