The Congress on Tuesday (April 21, 2026) alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is keen to delay the implementation of women’s reservations in legislatures by linking it to delimitation and recalled then Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s letter to him in 2018 demanding the immediate implementation of women’s quota.

Congress general secretary in-charge communications Jairam Ramesh said Rahul Gandhi, as Congress President, had written to the Prime Minister on July 16, 2018, demanding the immediate implementation of women’s reservation.
