The police seized 350 kgs of banned gutkha products from a godown at Kattumannarkovil in Cuddalore district on Sunday night.

Police said a team was conducting vehicle checks in Aranthangi when they intercepted Velmurugan, 42, and Panneerselvam, 36, of Ariyalur district, riding a two-wheeler. The team found a few packets of gutkha in their possession and seized the contraband.

During interrogation, the police found that one Jayaraman, 65, of Kattumannarkovil had procured gutkha products and stored them in his godown. The gutkha was supplied by him to shops in Cuddalore district. The team raided the godown and seized 350 kgs of the contraband. The trio were arrested and remanded to custody.
