Conference of oral and maxillofacial surgeons in Kalaburagi from today

A three-day 12th annual conference of the Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons of India (AOMSI), Karnataka State Chapter, will be held at S. Nijalingappa Institute of Dental Sciences and Research here from Friday.

President of Hyderabad Karnataka Education Society (HKES) Shashil G. Namoshi addressing presspersons here on Thursday said that the three-day conference is being organized in collaboration with the Karnataka Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and HKES S. Nijalingappa Institute of Dental Sciences and Research.

The theme of the conference is “Mukhaantara-transforming faces”.

The event will commence on Friday with an exclusive pre-conference session featuring advanced training on Fundamentals of Surgery and Digital Workflow in Orthognathic Surgery, courses on zygomatic, pterygoid and nasal implants and diode laser surgery and photo medicine applications in oral and maxillofacial surgery.

Scientific sessions

Scientific sessions will be held on Saturday and Sunday where 400 to 500 leading oral and maxillofacial surgeons, eminent faculty and specialists from across Karnataka, Maharashtra and Telangana will attend. And, 80 to 100 specialists will participate in a symposium, oral presentations and poster presentation on modern advances in surgery.

Chairman of the Kalyana Karnataka Region Development Board (KKRDB) Ajay Singh will inaugurate the conference on Saturday.

MLC B.G. Patil will be the guest on the occasion.

HKES vice-president Raja B. Bhimalli, secretary Udaykumar Chincholi and principal of S. Nijalingappa Institute of Dental Sciences and Research Jayashree Mudda were present.
