Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy urged medical professionals never to forget their responsibility towards people and society, and complement the government’s commitment and priority to public healthcare.

Addressing the Fellows India Conference, he urged them to remain deeply connected to society. The Chief Minister welcomed over 500 young cardiologists from across India and Southeast Asia to the conference organised by the International Cardiology Research and Training Foundation (ICRTF).

Expressing concern over the rising incidence of heart-related deaths, the Chief Minister called for a collective mission to prevent heart diseases. He suggested that voluntary initiatives such as teaching CPR training to students that could help save countless lives, and stressed the importance of prevention and public awareness.

Describing himself as a social doctor, he stressed the broader social responsibility of public leadership and the medical profession alike.

Mr Revanth Reddy said the city is fast emerging as a global hub for innovation in life sciences, pharmaceuticals and healthcare. Referring to rapid advancements in technology, including artificial intelligence and quantum computing, Mr. Reddy said healthcare is increasingly becoming technology-driven. However, he reminded them not to lose touch with the needs and concerns of people.
