For the world, he is Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. But at home, he is simply ‘Grand Dad.”

“Taatha… I’ll eat if only you make puris for me,” his grandson Reyansh insisted. And the Chief Minister happily traded government files for a rolling pin.

Standing beside his grandson in the kitchen, kneading dough, rolling out puris — some perfectly round to the delight of his grandson and many out of shape — the morning unfolded with laughter instead of official meetings.

Familypic.twitter.com/TXDbufWCdY

The little boy Reyansh joined in, expressing his opinion on the shape of the puris. For him, they were oval in shape, more than the rounded ones that his grandmother makes. The grandfather looked delighted with the suggestions as he gave a perfect shape and size under the grandson’s guidance, with a smile that rarely finds space in the demanding world of politics.

Amid the relentless pace of public life, this quiet family moment offered a welcome pause for the Chief Minister. The breakfast they prepared together became much more than a meal, it became a memory. The grandfather would surely treasure it.
