District Collector has declared a holiday for all educational institutions in Payyannur, Taliparamba and Irrity taluks on Tuesday (August 4, 3036) in view of adverse weather conditions.

The holiday applies to all education institutions, including tuition centres and madrasas. However, professional colleges are exempted from the holiday, except those functioning as relief camps. Residential school will continue to function as usual.

Pre-scheduled university and public examinations, as well as interviews, will be held as planned without any change.

Meanwhile, with rainfall easing in the district on Monday (August 3, 2026), people have begun returning home from relief camps. According to officials, 456 people are staying in six relief camps across Kannur district.
