Clash at Hassan site as actor Yash’s mother begins construction on disputed land; police intervene

Actor Yash’s mother and film producer A. Pushpa, on February 1, began building a compound wall at a privately owned site with several ownership disputes in Vidya Nagara, Hassan, prompting intervention from the local police.

As construction of the compound wall began on February 1 morning, a few individuals led by one Devaraju, who claimed to be the GPA holder of the project, objected. Devaraju demanded that the construction be stopped immediately, leading to a heated argument between the two parties. Hassan Extension Police intervened and asked both parties to approach the court to resolve the dispute.

The compound wall initially constructed by the Yash’s family was demolished on January 4, this year, following a court order. Devaraj had moved the court, alleging that the actor’s family encroached upon his property and sought possession of the property.

As per the court order, he had the compound wall demolished. However, Ms. Pushpa claimed that the demolition was illegal and that the court’s order did not pertain to the property she acquired via a registered sale deed in 2020. Consequently, she lodged a complaint against Devaraj with the local police.
