Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) has handled over 10 million passengers for the third consecutive year in 2025, according to the company.

During the period between January and December 2025, CIAL handled a total of 1,15,19,356 passengers, registering a year-on-year growth of approximately 4.85% over 2024, when it handled recorded 1,09,86,296 passengers, it said.

May emerged the busiest month of the year, with passenger traffic crossing 11.07 lakh, closely followed by January and December with 10.44 lakh and 10.06 lakh respectively. However, aircraft movements registered a minor dip to 74,689 in 2025 compared to 75,074 in 2024. The variation was attributable to a reduction in services by certain airlines, it said.

CIAL will shortly introduce full-body scanners for strengthening security screening standards while reducing physical checks, including frisking, and enhancing passenger comfort, the communication said.
