Megastar Chiranjeevi and filmmaker Bobby Kolli have reunited after the success of Waltair Veerayya. Their new film, earlier referred to as Mega158, is currently in production. On the occasion of Chiranjeevi’s 71st birthday, the makers unveiled the film’s title along with the first glimpse.
Notably, Bobby Kolli’s directorial has been titled Kaaka. The glimpse introduces Chiranjeevi as Sathyam, a supervisor at an aqua factory who is well-liked and respected in his locality.
Chiranjeevi’s Kaaka title glimpse out
In the 3-minute and 2-second-long glimpse video, Chiranjeevi can be seen as a loving father who shares a close bond with his daughter. However, the final moments hint at a different side to his character, suggesting that Sathyam may be a gangster living under the guise of an ordinary man.
Sharing the announcement, the makers wrote, “#Mega158 is #KAAKA Presenting the WHOLE NEW SIDE of MEGASTAR @chiranjeevikonidela Garu on his birthday TITLE GLIMPSE OUT NOW KAAKA will set THE BLOODY BENCHMARK on the BIG SCREENS this Sankranthi, on JANUARY 13, 2027 (sic).” Watch the first glimpse video below:
When is Chiranjeevi’s Kaaka releasing?
The upcoming Telugu film Kaaka will hit theatres on January 13, 2027, coinciding with Sankranthi. Apart from Chiranjeevi, the film stars Anaswara Rajan, Nivetha Pethuraj, Sunil and Getup Srinu in key roles.
Earlier in May, Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi began production on the film with a muhurat ceremony. The ceremony was attended by several prominent celebrities, including Pawan Kalyan and Nagababu.

Chiranjeevi’s Kaaka is written and directed by Bobby Kolli and produced by Venkat K Narayana under KVN Productions, the same production house that backed Vijay’s Jana Nayagan and Yash’s upcoming Kannada film Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups. The music is composed by Thaman S, while Antony Ruben has handled the editing. The screenplay is written by Kona Venkat and K Chakravarthy Reddy.
Chiranjeevi’s work front
On the work front, Chiranjeevi was last seen in Telugu film Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, which was released on January 12, 2026. Directed by Anil Ravipudi, the film also features Nayanthara and Venkatesh Daggubati in key roles. Those who missed the film in theatres can now stream it on the Zee5 platform.
