Kannada actor Yash is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups. The makers recently opened advance bookings, and the film has been witnessing a strong response, with its advance collection nearing Rs 20 crore. Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film is set to hit theatres worldwide on August 26.
Apart from Yash, the film features an ensemble female cast, including Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi and Rukmini Vasanth in key roles. Let’s find out how well the film has performed in its advance bookings in India.
Toxic Day 1 advance booking
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film has sold around 2.7 lakh tickets so far and has generated Rs 19.66 crore in advance booking revenue, including blocked seats. As per the data, the Kannada action thriller Toxic has grossed Rs 11.92 crore in India. The Kannada version is currently ahead of the other language versions, while the Hindi release has also recorded a strong response.
The Kannada version has contributed around Rs 7.72 crore, while the Hindi version has collected approximately Rs 3.86 crore. The Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam versions make up the rest of the advance bookings.
Karnataka leads Toxic advance bookings
As per Sacnilk, Karnataka has emerged as the biggest contributor to Toxic’s opening-day advance sales. The film has grossed Rs 7.72 crore in the state so far. Notably, the film also marks Yash’s comeback to the big screen after his 2022 release KGF: Chapter 2.
Yash’s Toxic to host grand pre-release event in Hyderabad
Moreover, the makers of the film have decided to host a pre-release event four days before its release in Hyderabad. The event is scheduled for August 22 at Malla Reddy University in Hyderabad, starting at 5 pm. The entire cast of the film will be present at the event, marking the production team’s final promotional activity for the movie.
Yash’s upcoming project
For the unversed, apart from Toxic, Yash has another big project in his pipeline, Nitesh Tiwari’s mythological epic Ramayana. The two-part film franchise is set to release in India during Diwali 2026 and worldwide on November 6, 2026. The second part is scheduled to release during Diwali 2027.
In the film, Yash will portray the role of the demon king Ravana, alongside Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Sai Pallavi as Maa Sita, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman and others.
