Centurion University to offer 4 new courses

VIZIANAGARAM

The Centurion University of Technology and Management (CUMT), Vizianagaram, has introduced four new B.Tech courses in a bid to address the employment gaps for the proposed Data Centres of Google and Reliance in Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram districts respectively, the university Vice President D.N. Rao announced on Thursday.

The new courses – B.Tech (Chip Designing), B.Tech (Data Centre Management), B.Tech (Robotics) and B. Tech (Drone Technology) – have been introduced after thorough study of the future requirements of the various industries and companies of the country, he added.

Dr. Rao said that the four new courses would be offered from 2026-27 academic year with full-fledged faculty to benefit the youngsters to study the courses relevant to fast changing technologies of the world, adding that the syllabus of the existing 15 courses such as CSE, Mechanical, Civil and others were also being changed to upskill students quickly with new technologies in chosen subjects.

“Many new industries are likely to come up in and around Data Centres and Bhogapuram international airport very soon. So, lot of job opportunities will be created for the youngsters. To ensure practical training for students, we are entering memorandum of understandings with various companies. Recently, we signed MoU with Viswasamudra company which is constructing a seaport in Mulapeta of Srikakulam district,” Dr. Rao said.

He lauded the Andhra Pradesh government for focusing on development of North Andhra region with the establishment of Data Centres, international airport, cargo airport, sea port, steel plant in Anakapalli district and others while suggesting the students to improve their skills seriously to get opportunities in top companies of the country.
