A 1991-batch IPS officer, C.V. Anand, assumed charge as Special Chief Secretary of Telangana Home Department on Tuesday (September 30, 2025). Thereafter, he met with Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao

Mr. Anand was the Hyderabad Police Commissioner before being appointed  as the Special Chief Secretary. It was his second stint as the city Police head. Prior to this, he served in the post from December 2021 to October 2023. He also served as Director General of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). 

A significant portion of his early career was dedicated to serving in Maoist-affected districts of the State. He received the President’s Gallantry Medal in 2002, awarded in recognition of his bravery and leadership.
