The Indian Institute of Educational Theatre (IIET), Mysuru, will organise a special guest lecture on ‘The Quantum World Beyond Common Sense’ on the IIET campus here on Saturday (June 13) at 5 p.m.

The lecture will be delivered by K.S. Mallesh, former professor, Department of Studies in Physics, University of Mysore, Manasagangotri. “Prof. Mallesh will take participants on an engaging journey into the fascinating and often counter-intuitive world of quantum mechanics,” the institute said.

The session aims to introduce students, educators, science enthusiasts, and the general public to the fundamental concepts of quantum physics and its revolutionary impact on modern technology. The lecture will explore how quantum principles influence innovations such as computers, communication systems, medical imaging, and emerging technologies that are shaping the future, a press release said.

The organisers said the lecture is designed to make complex scientific ideas accessible and interesting to a wider audience, encouraging curiosity and scientific thinking among learners of all ages.

The programme is open to all, and interested participants can attend and gain insights into one of the most intriguing fields of modern science, the organisers added.
