Burglars decamped with 900 liquor bottles and ₹45,000 cash from a Tasmac outlet at Eraivankadu village near Pallikonda town on Chennai – Bengaluru Highway (NH-48) in Vellore on Sunday.

Police said that outlet salesman K. Sridhar, 39, opened the shop around 12 noon when he noticed that the grill gate of the shop was broken. He went inside and found that several racks of liquor bottles were stolen. Hard disks of CCTV cameras fixed inside the outlets were also missing and the cameras were damaged.

Immediately, he alerted Pallikonda police. Police took footage along the route where the shop is located. Police said that the incident was the second such crime targeting the outlet in the past few months. A case was registered and further probe is under way.
