The Dasara Book Fair, organised by the Kannada Book Authority, will be held at the Scouts and Guides Grounds in Mysuru from September 22 to October 1. A book chariot was flagged off on Saturday to promote the fair across the city.

H.C. Mahadevappa, Minister in charge of Mysuru district, inaugurated the procession.

Deputy Commissioner G. Lakshmikant Reddy was present on the occasion.

Manasa, president of the Kannada Book Authority; Mallikarjun Swamy, Joint Director of the Department of Kannada and Culture; Nanjayya Honganuru, coordinator of the Mysuru Dasara Book Fair; and other dignitaries were present.

The Department of Kannada and Culture, Mysuru; the Dasara Festival Committee; and the Kannada Book Authority, Bengaluru; have jointly organised the book fair. With 90 stalls and nearly 50,000 books, the event aims to bring together writers and publishers. The book fair will also host daily book release sessions featuring works of many noted writers.
