With the performance of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in West Bengal, Assam and Puducherry likely to inject fresh energy into the party’s rank and file in Punjab, which goes to elections in a few months, the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) sought to deflate that buoyancy on Monday (May 4, 2026).
The saffron party had historically struggled to make inroads in Punjab, but lately, the party has been aggressively campaigning to get a foothold in the border State. In March this year, Union Minister Amit Shah sounded the party’s poll bugle at the Badlav rally in Moga.
