Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Saturday said that anyone with a conscience would not accept the BJP government’s betrayal of Tamil Nadu, even though the State was generating higher revenues through taxes.

Mr. Stalin, who chaired a meeting of the party’s MPs at the DMK headquarters earlier in the day, said Tamil Nadu had achieved 11.19 % growth, the highest in the country, despite the Centre’s indifference.

“The BJP government must answer the DMK MPs in Parliament,” he said in a message on social media. He questioned whether it was fair for the BJP government to continue to ignore the voice of the people of Tamil Nadu while claiming that India is the world’s largest democracy.

“It is unjustifiable to disregard the demands of Tamil Nadu, which have been adopted as resolutions in the Assembly and communicated to the Centre through letters,” he added.
