Kolkata:

Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s nephew, Chandra Kumar Bose, who quit the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2023, on Sunday (April 12, 2026) joined the Trinamool Congress. Ahead of the West Bengal Assembly polls, Mr. Bose said his earlier decision to join the BJP was a “historic mistake.”

“A few years ago I had made a historic mistake by being a part of the BJP. I rectified that mistake by joining the TMC, because with Bengal’s history, tradition and culture, there are no similarities with the BJP,” Mr. Chandra Bose said.
