Belagavi literary festival on Sunday

Various organisations have come together to organise Belagavi Sahityotsava-2025, a literature festival in Belagavi. Writers and thinkers will gather in Belagavi on Sunday, to discuss various issues related to society and culture.

As part of the literary festival, programs such as musical performances, book launches, panel discussions, lectures on novel, poetry and other events will be organised.

Parimala Prakashan Belagavi and Parimala Cultural Channel will organise the event. It is supported by organizations such as Belagavi District Sahitya Pratishthan, Rangasrishti Belagavi, Bijapure Harmonium Foundation Bengaluru and Kriyasheel Balaga Belagavi.

Ayyappaiah Halagalimath will present a Hindustani classical vocal performance at 9 a.m. He will be accompanied by Narayana Ganachari on the tabla and Yogesh Ramdas on the harmonium. Senior tabla player G.A. Kulkarni (Bandopant) will be present.

A book, Ravivaraya Namah, by Raghavendra Patil will be released. S.M. Kulkarni will preside over it. Gurudevi Huleppanavaramath, Shirisha Joshi Maktunhusen Hosalli will be present.

P.G. Kempannavar will deliver a lecture on the poetic heritage of Belagavi district. M.S. Inchal and Rajkumar Kumbar will be present.

Senior journalists Devu Pattar and M.K. Hegde will participate in a discussion on the cultural responsibility of the media. Ramesh Jangal will be present. Deepika Chate will respond. A.M. Jayashree will conduct the programme.

Later, N.S. Sridharamurthy from Bengaluru will deliver a lecture on Bendre’s Naku Thanti. Suma Kittur and Sharanaya Mathapati will be present.

Young poets Nadeema Sanadi, Nagesh Nayak, Shailaja Bhinge, Asha Yamakanamaradi will recite poems.

Writers will participate in a panel discussion at 2 p.m.

Basavaraja Jagajampi. L.S. Shastri, Gundenatti Madhukar, Sridhara Hukkeri and others will participate.

Prakash Garuda, Raghu Kammara, Ramakrishna Marathe, Aravind Kulkarni, Ravi Kotaragasti and others will participate in a discussion on contemporary theatre.

Writer and IT entrepreneur Sanket Patil will read from this latest works.

H.B. Rajashekar will be present. Shraddha Patil will moderate.

Gurupada Mariguddi Sankeshwar will deliver a lecture on Kuvempu novels.

N.B. Deshpande will be present. Ramesh Murji will moderate.

Sarjoo Katkar will preside over the valedictory function. Shyamasundara Bidarakundi will deliver the closing remarks. B.S. Gavimath will be present. Jyoti Badami will be the anchor.
