The Election Commission of India (EC) on Friday (April 10, 2026) ordered the immediate transfer of Greater Chennai Commissioner of Police A. Arun and posting of Additional Director General of Police Abhin Dinesh Modak in his place.
Mr. Modak took charge of his new assignment in the evening. The EC directed that Mr. Arun should not be posted in any election-related posts till the completion of the Assembly election.
