The Congress Mandalam Committee office at Karivellur in Kannur, Kerala, was reportedly vandalised late Sunday night, with unidentified persons breaking into the premises and setting fire to poll campaign flexboards kept inside.

The attack targeted Gandhi Mandiram, which houses the Karivellur Mandalam Congress Committee office on the Karivellur Theru road. The assailants allegedly broke open the door lock and entered the office. The incident came to light on Monday morning when party workers arrived at the office.

A complaint has been filed with the the Payyanur police. The police have conducted a preliminary inspection.

According to Congress sources, a night camp was organised at the office on Sunday as part of the implementation of the special intensive revision (SIR) programme following a call by the KPCC and under the leadership of the Mandalam committee. The attack is suspected to have occurred after the workers left around midnight.

Earlier, the Congress office at Mathattum in Kolassery, Kannur, was allegedly vandalised late on Saturday (December 27, 2025) night, with unidentified persons reportedly breaking open the shutters, damaging property and dumping party materials onto a nearby road and a creek.
