Andhra Pradesh faculty shine in Stanford’s Global Top 2% Scientists list

Faculty from higher educational institutions in Andhra Pradesh have made it to the list of top 2 % of world scientists and researchers, compiled by a research group at Stanford University in collaboration with Elsevier, for the year 2025.

Seven faculty members from SRM University-AP have been recognised in this year’s list. They include Associate Professor and Head, Department of Environmental Science and Engineering Rangabhashiyam Selvasembian, Associate Professor, Department of Environmental Science and Engineering Karthik Rajendran, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering Randhir Kumar and Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering Kshira Sagar Sahoo.

The other notable entries are Associate Professor of Practice, Center for Interdisciplinary Research Vinodkumar Etacheri, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering Prabhujit Mohapatra and Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics Pintu Bhunia.

Two Professors from Andhra Loyola College (ALC) have been ranked among world’s top 2 % scientists. They include Research Director of ALC Nalluri Veeraiah and Professor in the Department of Physics M. C. Rao.

Abhishek Kumar, a faculty member of the National Institute of Design (NID)-AP, has also been recognised among the world’s top 2% scientists .This recognition marks a first-ever achievement in the history of NID since its inception in 1961, said a statement released by the institution.

The Stanford list identifies scientists worldwide in the top 2% of researchers for their influence in their scientific fields. Influence is measured via citation metrics.
