TDP Andhra Pradesh unit president Palla Srinivasa Rao has said that the government would provide security to YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) MLC Botcha Satyanarayana if the situation warranted. Referring to the claim by Mr. Satyanarayana to have a threat to his life, the TDP leader said if it is true it would be from his own party as his growing popularity in the YSRCP was probably not going down well with the fellow leaders especially party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Addressing the media at the TDP Central office on Saturday, Mr. Srinivasa Rao said there was no need for Mr. Satyanarayana to fear for his life as the government would take the necessary steps for his protection.

“Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy would not tolerate the rise of other leaders, which was evident from how he despised Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy,” said Mr. Srinivasa Rao.

“Going by Mr. Satyanarayana’s good performance in the Legislative Council and the way he was leading the YSRCP from the front, the chance of someone within his party conspiring to eliminate him could not be ruled out,” the TDP State president said.

Referring to the development of the State, Mr. Srinivasa Rao said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s reputation helped attract huge investments from reputed players, including TCS, Mahindra, LuLu Group, Reliance and NTPC Green.

“Besides, one of the world’s largest data centres is in the process of being set up by a Google’s subsidiary company in Visakhapatnam,” he said.

Owing to the NDA government’s efforts, he said, Andhra Pradesh was making rapid strides. “However, the YSRCP is trying to derail the progress that has been achieved in the last one-and-a-half years. The YSRCP leaders are writing letters to potential investors in a bid to deflect them to other States,” he alleged.

He accused Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy of spreading false propaganda on the medical colleges that they were being privatised.

Referring to the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP), Mr. Srinivasa Rao said that the YSRCP government had not spent even a single penny on the PSU and that the NDA government had put it back on track with the support of the Centre.
