All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA) will conduct its 14th national conference in Hyderabad from January 25 to 28 at RTC Kalyana Mandapam.
Organised in Hyderabad after 1981, the national conference will discuss and deliberate on key issues concerning women in the country. The conference, the AIDWA leaders who addressed the media here on Friday said, will be platform for women leaders and representatives from across the country. The key message through this four-day event is to emphasise the need to strengthen women movements in the country and advance the issues of women’s rights and social justice, they said.
The conference would broadly discuss the issues of violence against women, price rise and unemployment, rights of girl child, and impact of the National Education Policy, 2020 on women’s equality, and other contemporary perspectives.
As per the programme agenda, the event will begin with a pre-conference exhibition on the landmark women’s movement and issues. This will be held at Sundarayya Vignana Kendram on January 24.
On Sunday, the main event will unveil at the RTC Kalyana Mandapam after a massive rally is taken via Sundarayya Vignana Kendram, Narayanagyda, RTC X Road, Golconda X Road, a u-turn there, and lastly stopping at the Mandapam venue.
Also on Sunday, a public meeting will be held at Bus Bhavan grounds from 2.30 p.m. to 5 p.m., which will be attended by its national leaders P.K. Sreemathi Teacher, Mariam Dhawale, Brinda Karat, and others.
