The State government has relaxed the maximum age limit for recruitment for government jobs by three years across all departments and categories uniformly.

The State government is now carrying out direct recruitment for 32,111 posts across various departments and the relaxation in age limit as a “one-time measure” is applicable only to this batch of recruitment, an order issued on Monday said.

The State government had frozen all recruitment in October 2024 till further orders. This was to ensure any new recruitment was conducted after implementing internal reservation among Scheduled Castes (SCs).

When the State Cabinet in August 2025 decided to implement internal reservation, it also relaxed the age limit by two years as a one-time measure. However, many elected representatives and job aspirants petitioned the government seeking an age limit relaxation by five years. Following this, the State government issued an order on Monday increasing the relaxation from two years to three.
