Administrative reshuffle: New heads in BMTC, KSRTC, Health and Urban Departments

The Karnataka government on Thursday effected a rejig of IAS officers, including the Managing Director of Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC), which will now be headed by Raghunandan Murthy, a 2014 batch IAS officer. Mr. Murthy will continue to hold an additional charge as Commissioner of Treasuries.

Sivakumar K.B., who was the MD of BMTC, has been named the Managing Director of the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC). In addition, Manivannan P., Commissioner of the Bengaluru Development Authority (BDA), has been given concurrent charge as Commissioner of the Directorate of Urban Land Transport.

The government has also transferred Imkongla Jamir M., Resident Commissioner of Karnataka Bhavan in New Delhi, and posted as Secretary (Coordination), Karnataka Bhavan. Sameer Shukla, Secretary to the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, has been appointed Resident Commissioner, Karnataka Bhavan, New Delhi.

Prasad N.V., who was awaiting posting, has been appointed secretary, Backward Classes Welfare Department. Thulasi Maddineni, who held the post, has been transferred as secretary, Higher Education Department. Randeep D. has been posted as secretary of the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department. Further, Ram Prasath Manohar V., Managing Director of Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL), has been given concurrent charge as Commissioner of Tourism.

Sateesha B.C., Director of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME), has been transferred as Commissioner of the Agriculture Department. Gyanendra Kumar Gangwar, Joint Managing Director of the Karnataka Urban Water Supply and Drainage Board, has been appointed Director of MSME in his place.

Akram Pasha, who was awaiting posting, has been appointed Mission Director of the National Health Mission and Directorate of Health. Nitish K. has been appointed as director of municipal administration. He has also been given concurrent charge as special commissioner (health and education), Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA).

Further, Gajanan Bale has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Zilla Panchayat, Bagalkot district, while retaining concurrent charge as General Manager, Resettlement and Rehabilitation and Land Acquisition, Upper Krishna Project.
