The Andhra Pradesh Turpu Kapu Samkshema Sangham State honorary president and Markfed director Anepu Ramakrishna Naidu on Wednesday (June 24, 2026) said the association would hold constituency-level meetings in all segments of united Srikakulam district in July 2026 to discuss the political injustice meted out to the community and chalk out an action plan for the welfare of its downtrodden sections.

He said an exclusive building would be constructed for the community in Srikakulam within a year.

As many as 35 Kapu leaders of Telugu Desam Party, Jana Sena Party, BJP, YSR Congress Party, and the Congress held a high-level meeting in Srikakulam on Tuesday night. Jana Sena Party’s Srikakulam parliamentary in-charge and Srikakulam Urban Development Authority chairman Korikana Ravikumar attended as the chief guest.

Revealing the details and resolutions of the meeting, Mr. Ramakrishna Naidu said the association would request all political parties to give the community at least four Assembly seats, as it has the highest population in the district. He said the community was confined to only the Patapatnam Assembly seat, though it used to have good representation in the Assembly and Parliament.

Mr. Ravikumar said higher and legitimate representation for the community was the need of the hour to protect the interests of the Turpu Kapu community and other backward classes.

Former Srikakulam District Cooperative Central Bank chairman Dola Jaganmohana Rao and retired official Surangi Mohana Rao said the association would take care of the higher-education needs of youngsters and provide financial assistance to patients suffering from chronic diseases.
