The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet on Thursday approved a series of proposals aimed at strengthening security arrangements for the Godavari Pushkaralu-2027, supporting handloom workers, promoting industrial development and advancing infrastructure projects across the State.

The decisions were taken at the Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

Briefing the media later, Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Minister Kolusu Parthasarathy said that the Cabinet cleared a proposal to extend the government guarantee for a ₹300-crore term loan to the Andhra Pradesh State Cooperative Marketing Federation (AP MARKFED).

The Cabinet approved a special security and crowd management plan for the Godavari Pushkaralu scheduled to be held in June-July 2027. It approved the allocation of ₹50 crore for security and crowd management arrangements for the event and ratified the assignment of fire services modernisation works to four State-run agencies under the 15th Finance Commission’s Grant-in-Aid Scheme, he said.

The Cabinet also approved the implementation of the ‘Nethannala Sevalo’ scheme to provide financial assistance to handloom workers. Under the scheme, eligible handloom worker families below the poverty line will receive ₹25,000 annually.

Other proposals

As part of efforts to attract investments and promote clean energy, the Cabinet cleared several proposals relating to renewable energy projects and infrastructure development. Land-related approvals were given for energy, tourism and industrial projects, including initiatives to expand green energy capacity in the State.

The Cabinet approved the framework for implementing the Centre’s Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojana (BHAVYA) in Andhra Pradesh. The A.P. Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) has been designated as the nodal agency for developing industrial parks under the initiative. The move would help create sector-specific industrial hubs and accelerate manufacturing growth.

The Cabinet also approved measures to facilitate aerospace and aviation infrastructure development, healthcare expansion and revival of a closed engineering institution through Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University-Anantapur, the Minister said.
