The SRM University–A.P. will host the first edition of the Amaravati Literature Festival (ALF) from October 22 to 24, 2025. With the evocative tagline “Kotha Nagaram, Kotha Svaralu” (New City, New Voices), the festival will celebrate both, the emerging spirit of Amaravati and the enduring power of literature to shape communities and ideas.

A statement released on Saturday (October 18, 2025) said that the ALF will bring together a vibrant constellation of authors, poets, translators, academics, and cultural icons from across India. Highlights include a keynote address by acclaimed Telugu feminist writer Volga (P. Lalita Kumari) and conversations with distinguished voices such as Padma Shri Ganesh N. Devy, P. Satyavathi, Ramesh Karthik Nayak, Kadali Satyanarayana, Jerry Pinto, Devendra Prabhudesai, Ranjan Ghosh, Manisha Sobhrajani, Millo Ankha, Milee Ashwarya, Canato Jimo, N. Jency and Pavan Santhosh.

The festival will feature sessions in both Telugu and English, celebrating the richness of India’s multilingual creativity. Evenings will come alive with cultural performances by students and artists, including Koka Vijayalakshmi, blending literature with music, art, and theatre.

“More than a celebration of books, ALF is a celebration of cities, communities, and civic imagination. As Amaravati evolves into a modern capital, the festival provides a platform to envision new voices, stories, and identities that will define its cultural landscape,” said Amlan Baisya, convenor of the festival.

He said visitors can look forward to an immersive experience of panel discussions, art installations, craft exhibitions, and culinary showcases, making ALF a truly holistic cultural festival. “Our mission is to foster a love for literature, encourage critical thought, and provide a platform for both emerging and established voices,” he said, adding that beyond literary sessions, ALF is about community engagement and inclusive cultural exchange.
