A gig worker, Kondal Reddy, who was diagnosed with cancer, was accorded financial assistance from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF).
Labour Minister Dr G Vivek Venkataswamy handed over a cheque of ₹2,77,500 to Mr. Reddy. Mr. Reddy was working as cab driver for the past nine years, and on account of ill-health, he was unable to work. His family was facing severe financial difficulties as he was the sole breadwinner, and has two school-going daughters.
Reacting to the development, the Telangana Gig and Platform Workers Union thanked both Dr. Venkataswamy as well as Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.
