M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT) welcomed a new batch of first year engineering students in Bengaluru on Wednesday.

Addressing the new batch, scientist and Padma Shri awardee, Dr. Shubha V Iyengar said: “Everyone should realise that even the impossible can be achieved through hard work and dedication in life and should take steps accordingly. For instance, India imported most materials and equipments in the aviation sector from other countries. After ‘Make in India’ was launched in 2014, the import rate has reduced and we are manufacturing machines and developing apps required in this sector.”

She noted that students must take inspiration from such campaigns like Make in India and others.

Meanwhile, M.R. Seetharam, chairman, Gokula Education Foundation, said: “You cannot measure everything by marks. Acquiring knowledge in college days play an important role. You have chosen a college that is well-equipped with faculty, experiential learning, and infrastructure. All you need to put in is hard work and develop necessary skills.”
